Global Exhibitions Day (GED) is a joint initiative by more than 40 exhibition industry associations around the world, created in 2016 by UFI. Always held on the first Wednesday in June, this year’s celebrations are scheduled for 6 June.
The aim of GED is to raise the profile of our sector as one of the most vital contributors to economic growth in cities, regions, and countries, through activities by exhibition industry associations and companies all around the world.
With 260 million visitors and 4.4 million exhibitors generating €98bn revenues every year, GED highlights the positive impact of exhibitions on jobs, business, innovation and local investment. UFI estimates that half of exhibition spending benefits host territories directly, and the other half benefits the exhibitions industry, creating or maintaining hundreds of thousands of jobs.
